Terms of Service

Please take some to review the terms of service before placing your request for a search effort. Definitions Service Area means the location where the recovery search will take place. Service Call means a request made by the member to use pet recovery services. UAV means an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle; a drone. Weather Restrictions Services are not available during rain or other adverse weather conditions such as heavy wind, snow, or fog that prevent safe drone operation. If a Service Call is scheduled during such conditions, it may be canceled or rescheduled at the drone operator’s discretion, as outlined in the Service Call Cancellations section. Serviceable Areas Serviceable Areas are subject to limiting factors such as airspace classification, Temporary Flight Restrictions, Prohibited or Restricted Airspace, territory under the jurisdiction of the Department of Defense (JBLM), and wildlife areas. Other limiting factors may include events with large gatherings, busy highways or streets, or other densely populated areas. Service Timelines Service Call start times may vary. The drone operator may schedule a start time for evenings or mornings when conditions are ideal for thermal imaging. Factors affecting the drone operator's availability may include weather conditions, Temporary Flight Restrictions, other ongoing search missions, and other limiting factors. Services will not be conducted during rain or adverse weather conditions that prevent safe drone operation, and such conditions may result in a delay or cancellation of the Service Call. Pet Owner’s Role in the Operation Pet owners must be present during the operation. Pet owners should dress according to the climate and temperature and be prepared to spend extended periods of time in an outdoor setting. Pet owners must retrieve, secure, and handle the pet if located. Drone operators are prohibited from retrieving, securing, and handling pets on private or restricted property and must remain in control of the aircraft at all times. Pet owners should bring a picture of the pet, if available, and know the pet’s breed and approximate size. What to Bring Cellphone Leash and Collar Comfort items: dog blankets; dog toys; dog beds; treats; or other items that carry a familiar scent. Service Guarantees Identifying your pet’s location can never be guaranteed. However, a good faith effort will be made to locate your pet.   Service Call Cancellations Service Calls may be delayed or canceled if the drone operator determines it to be necessary. If the service call is canceled by the drone operator, the pet owner may choose to reschedule the Service Call or receive a refund for the amount paid. Service Call Duration The initial service call duration is limited to 90 minutes from the time that the UAV is launched. Additional time may be requested by the Pet Owner. Additional search time is subject to approval by the Drone Operator. Payments Full payment is required before the search mission begins, unless the drone operator approves an exception. Once the UAV (drone) has launched, the payment becomes non-refundable. Payments become nonrefundable after the UAV has launched. Cancellations by the Pet Owner: Before the drone operator departs for the service location: 100% refund. After the drone operator has departed, but before the UAV launches: Refund minus a $35 cancellation fee. After the UAV has launched: No refund. Cancellations or Delays by Skyline Pet Recovery The drone operator may delay or cancel a Service Call at any time if conditions make it unsafe or impractical (e.g., weather, airspace restrictions, or other factors). If Skyline Pet Recovery cancels the Service Call: You may reschedule at no additional cost or receive a full refund. Animals Covered Skyline Pet Recovery services are available for the following types of animals: dogs, cats, equine, cows or calves, goats, and sheep. Other animals, such as rabbits, may also be eligible for recovery services, subject to the drone operator’s discretion and the animal’s detectability using thermal drone technology. Services are not intended for use with wildlife commonly associated with hunting (e.g., doe, buck, elk), as outlined in the Washington State Restrictions section.   Unforeseen Inaccessible Locations If a pet is located in an area that is inaccessible due to physical, legal, or safety barriers—such as private property, hazardous terrain, restricted zones, or other unforeseen obstacles—Skyline Pet Recovery will provide the pet owner with the pet’s identified location to the best of our ability using thermal drone technology. However, Skyline Pet Recovery and its drone operators are not responsible for gaining access to such locations or retrieving the pet. It is the pet owner’s responsibility to coordinate access (e.g., obtaining permission from property owners) or to arrange alternative means of retrieval or waiting until the pet has moved to an accessible location. WA State Restrictions WA State restricts drone-based services for use in locating wildlife for purposes of hunting. Therefore, pet recovery searches are not intended for use with Doe, Buck, Elk, or other commonly hunted animals. If the drone operator determines that services are being used for this purpose, the search mission may be cancelled and your eligibility for future services may be denied. Liability Waiver and Limitation of Liability Pet owners participate in Skyline Pet Recovery services at their own risk. Skyline Pet Recovery, its drone operators, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our services, including but not limited to property damage, personal injury, or emotional distress. This includes damages resulting from drone malfunctions, failure to locate a pet, or actions taken by pet owners during a search. By using our services, pet owners agree to waive any claims against Skyline Pet Recovery for such damages. In no event shall Skyline Pet Recovery’s total liability exceed the amount paid by the member for the service in question. Liability Waiver Requirement Before any pet recovery services are provided, the person who makes the Service Call or who is present to meet the drone operator must sign a Waiver of Liability, either electronically through our website or in person at the time of the Service Call. This waiver releases Skyline Pet Recovery from liability for risks associated with the service, as outlined in the Liability Waiver and Limitation of Liability section. Failure to sign the waiver will result in the cancellation of the Service Call, with no refund provided. Privacy Policy Skyline Pet Recovery collects personal information, such as your name, email address, and payment details, to provide our services and communicate with clients.
